B-Tech AV Mounts

A full website overhaul for an international screen mounting company.

Overview

Btech is an international company providing mounting solutions for digital screens across a wide range of settings. Through Revo I worked as the lead designer on a complete overhaul of their existing website — a technically complex project that needed to showcase a large product catalogue clearly and intuitively, without any ecommerce functionality.

The Challenge

The existing Btech site was heavily outdated and no longer reflected the quality or breadth of their product range. The core challenge was creating something that carried the complexity and structure of an ecommerce site — product pages, filters, detailed specifications — but without the ability to purchase directly. Every design decision had to prioritise helping users find the right product quickly and confidently. The product pages were the heart of this project, going through multiple rounds of revision with the client to get the filtering, product descriptions and technical dimensions presented in a way that was both clear and cohesive. Significant research went into this stage — looking at both Btech's direct competitors and established ecommerce brands with large product catalogues — to find the balance between creating something that felt unique to Btech while remaining familiar and intuitive enough for users to navigate with ease.

The Solution

The project began with initial homepage concepts developed collaboratively between myself, another designer and the creative director. Once a direction was signed off the project became my responsibility to lead, completing all remaining pages from product listings through to about pages and the full configurator suite. Consistency across such a large file was a priority throughout — experience gained from the Hippo Waste project directly informed how I structured and managed the Figma file to keep everything clean and workable as the project grew. Designs were prototyped at the end of the design stage, linking all pages together to demonstrate the full user flow to the client. Throughout the project I worked closely with project managers and developers to ensure every design decision was technically achievable in the build.

The Result

The designs are complete and the project is currently in development within Wordpress. Reflecting on this project, it's one I'm proud of — the site is a significant and noticeable upgrade on what existed before. If I were to approach it again I'd invest more time upfront in a structured discovery phase, similar to what I produced for Studio Into, particularly around the product and individual pages. That process would have given even more depth and clarity to the UX decisions made. It's a lesson that has already shaped how I approach new projects.
