A full rebrand and website redesign for a North Devon holiday cottage.
Overview
Pattard Cottages is a holiday cottage business based in North Devon. The owner approached me directly as a freelance project to redesign their website and create a completely new brand identity from scratch. The goal was to modernise the site, streamline the booking experience and better capture the charm and character of the cottages — while keeping everything within the Wix platform at the client's request. I led the project end to end, from initial brand development through to the finished live site.

The Challenge
The existing site was outdated and no longer reflected the quality or character of Pattard Cottages. The brief was to create something that felt fresh, distinctive and easy to navigate — without relying on a generic Wix template. Working within Wix's constraints meant finding creative ways to deliver a bespoke feeling design that didn't look like an off the shelf solution, which required careful thought around layout, typography and how content was structured across the platform.
The Solution
Starting with the brand, I developed a completely new visual identity — building a colour palette and typography system that felt grounded in the North Devon landscape without being clichéd. This fed directly into the website design, which was built in Figma first before being translated into Wix. The focus throughout was on clear navigation and an intuitive booking flow, making it as easy as possible for users to find a cottage and take the next step. I also personally shot and edited the photography used across the site, giving it a visual consistency that a stock image approach wouldn't have achieved. The mobile experience was given equal attention to ensure the design held up across all devices.
The Result
The site launched successfully and the client was genuinely happy with the outcome. Tim Newton, owner of Pattard Cottages, said — "Collaborating with George was a great experience. He invested time in understanding the needs of the Pattard website and how it could be revitalised. Delighted with the outcome!" Beyond the initial launch I continue to work with Pattard on an ongoing basis, helping to maintain and update the site as needed.
